Durable/low maintenance
Natural stone is there for the long hall. The only maintenance needed may be the odd power wash, but you know your patio will stand the test of time and weather gracefully.

Blends into the landscape
Stone and plants go together like tea and biscuits. Due to the hardy nature of natural stone you can weave plantings right into your patio to fully integrate it into the landscape.

Creative options
Basalt, Granite, sandstone, limestone. Flagstone or Dimensionally cut. Flamed or Sand blasted finish. Sand set, mortared down or Romex installation. Endless options, all with their pros and cons. We are happy to work with you to customize and help create your ideal patio.

Driveways

Concrete pavers or natural stone driveways are a great way to customize your home to your individual taste. The options are endless: crisp lines of a modern home, timeless cobble stones, or plantable paving stone systems for a more natural feel.

Our interlocking paving stone driveways are permeable which makes them highly resistant to the freeze/thaw cycle and stronger under heavy loads than the cracked concrete driveways we are often replacing. Unlike solid concrete, if any vehicle staining should occur on your driveway, it is a simple fix to remove and replace the stained pavers, making interlocking pavers the best long-term option for your home.

Walls

Our locally quarried Squamish Basalt stone walls are hand-picked and chiseled so that each stone fits tightly for long lasting structural integrity. Zero concrete or mortar are used to create our timeless and permeable walls that are highly resistant to the harsh freeze/thaw cycles. No leaching mortar, no repointing crumbled joints in years to come! Just well fitted stones aging gracefully and blending with the landscape. Walls built using these techniques still stand in Europe dating back to 7,000BC. I’m not so sure the current trend of architectural concrete walls will age quite so gracefully, but we do hope our Basalt walls will!

Steps

Everyone loves climbing over rocks, so why not enjoy it daily! Truly solid, zero maintenance, long lasting and gorgeous to look at. The only issue is, they’re as heavy as hell to get into place, but we’re happy to do that for you!

Over the last 17 years we’ve worked with Vancouvers top architects and landscape designers as well as a huge array of creative homeowners to install a wide range of ways to get from point A to point B. From the “6’ long contemporary stone bars” to the “brick explosion” we’ve seen it all. There are few home improvements more personal than the path you walk daily, and we are always happy to help create your vision.

Column & Boulder Placement

You can get a lot of retention out of a few well-placed boulders or columns while leaving your landscape looking natural and as though it has always been that way. Lucky to be surrounded by so much beautiful stone in our Westcoast landscape we’re able to bring the look of a whistler hike into your backyard, and hopefully you get as excited about a particularly mossy boulder or curvy column as we do!
